what halitosis is. Halitosis is the technical name for
bad breath. According to the ADA, chronic bad breath

is caused by the breakdown of food or other particles in

Can bad breath be caused by other problems? Halitosis can be
caused by other medical conditions also, including

), and smoking. Additional sources include dieting,
smoking, age, stress, snoring, and hormonal changes.

to dry mouth associated with taking radiation therapy.

from the stomach but are considered rare. Why is saliva so important in fighting bad breath? Saliva
is like your mouth's shower. It helps to continually wash
